Not only did Larry publish a book, Larry’s Words of Wisdom, he now writes articles for the Neighbors of Sun City West magazine. Well, he’s written one article so far, and it’s going to be published in November 2024. I thought you’d like to read what he has to say:
Hi! I’m Larry. I have my own book called Larry’s Words of Wisdom. My two-legged Mom takes a lot of pictures of me, and then we decide what I might be thinking. Sometimes she’s right. Sometimes I’m thinking about dinner.
Mom made me sit in front of her pretty Autumn decoration on the front porch, and Dad made silly noises to make me put my ears up. After studying all the pictures, we decided on this one and came up with the quote “Practice thanks giving all year long.” I was very thankful I didn’t have to sit there very much longer and was actually thinking I’d like to eat one of those pumpkins.
I’m thankful for a lot of things in my life. I’m thankful I was rescued as a pup. I’m thankful I have a bed in almost every room. I’m thankful I walk Mom every morning, and that it’s cooling off. I’m thankful Dad feeds me breakfast and dinner. He even gives me 22 kibble bits before bedtime. Mom calls it dessert, so I figure I’ll wag my tall and make her happy. I’m thankful for all the “Good Boy” pats.
What are you thankful for?
Here are ways I show my gratitude all year long:
- I smile when Mom and Dad come home. I raise the side of my mouth, and they think it’s smiling, so I let them get excited about that.
- Sometimes I offer them my duck when they come home. They’ll try to take it away from me, but I turn my head and think, “Nope. Can’t have it.”
- I lick all the peanut butter out of my Kong toy, so Mom doesn’t have to wash it.
- Mom and Dad like me to sit next to them on the sofa. I aim to please.
I believe it’s important to be thankful for the little things in life and to show your gratitude all year long.
Love, Larry
